This is a combination of dry fish (unakka meen) and raw banana pieces and it is beyond any doubt awesome..
Ingredients :
- Dry fish pieces : 4-5 (cleaned well)
- Raw banana pieces : 1/2 cup
- Green Chillies : 2-3(slitted)
- Pearl onion : 4-5
- Chilly powder : 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp
- Salt
- Coconut grated : 1/2 cup
- Kudampuli : 1 small piece
- Curry leaves : 1 spring
- Mustard seeds : few
- Fenugreek seeds : few
- Coconut Oil
Method :
- Grind the coconut with turmeric powder and pearl onions into a smooth paste.
- Cook the banana pieces with enough water with chilly powder,kudampuli and salt.
- When it cooks well, add the cleaned dry fish pieces and make a boil.
- Change the flame to medium and add the ground coconut mixture , allow to a slight boil and switch off the flame.
- Heat oil in another pan,splutter mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds,add curry leaves and saute well
- Pour this into the curry..and serve hot.
Spicy Mullan Fry :
- Mullan Fish (with head) :3 pieces
- Kashmiri chilly powder : 3 tsp
- Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp
- Fennel powder : 1 tsp
- Pepper Powder : 1 tsp
- Lime juice : 1 tsp
- Salt
- Oil
Method :
- Clean the fish well and make some gashes on it.
- Marinate with all the ingredients except oil and keep aside for 1 hour.
- Shallow fry in hot oil in medium flame.
Ready!!!!!Serve!!!!!!!!!
