Kerala Style Beef Ularth


Here is a famous Kerala Restaurent named "Village Restaurent" and there are a lot of flavourful, elegant and traditional recipes of God's own country." One of them is this delicious beef Ularth with coconut flakes..Not that much taste..but it's Okay(My hubby says "villagekar kandal kothikkondu pokum")


Ingredients


To cook the beef


• Beef - 500 g, cleaned and cubed
• Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tsp
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
• Coriander powder – 1 tsp
• Chilly powder - 1.5 tsp
• Salt - 1/2 tsp

For the masala

• Pearl onion - 1/4 cup, thinly sliced
• Coconut oil - 2 - 3 tbsp
• Coconut cuts / thenga kothu - 1/4 - 1/2 cup
• Onion - 1 large, chopped
• Ginger - 1 tsp, finely chopped
• Garlic - 1 tsp, finely chopped
• Green chilies - 4, slit
• Tomato - 1 small, cubed
• Curry leaves - A handful
• Garam masala powder - 1.5 tsp

Method:

  • Cook the beef with the ingredients listed .
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add onion sliced ,pearl onion and curry leaves
  • When it become light brown in colour add ginger,garlic,green chilly and tomato
  • After sautéing well add the cooked beef along with the gravy,pepper powder and coconut cuts and mix well.
  • Stir well till dry.
  • Before switch off the flame add garam masala powder and some curry leaves .
