Cheera Mezhukkupuratti and Spicy Fish Fry

A delicious, nutritious and easy to make side dish with cheera (spinach) for a simple lunch


Ingredients :

  1. Spinach Chopped : 1 Cup
  2. Onion: 1
  3. Green Chillies : 2-3
  4. Curry Leaves : 2 springs
  5. Salt
  6. Oil
  7. Mustard Seeds
  8. Coconut Grated : 1 tsp(optional)



Method :


  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds
  • Add curry leaves , chopped spinach, sliced onion, and chopped green chillies
  • Stir well 
  • Sprinkle 2-3 tsps of water and salt
  • Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • When the water completely evaporates open the lid .
  • Stir well and add the grated coconut(not as much as for thoran, 1 teaspoon only)




Ingredients :


  1. Fish : 4 pieces
  2. Red Chilly Powder : 2tsp
  3. Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste : 1 tsp
  5. Pepper Powder : 1 tsp
  6. Lemon Juice : from half of a lemon
  7. Salt
  8. Oil

Method :

  • Marinate fish pieces with all the ingredients and let it rest for 1 hour.
  • Shallow fry them in medium hot oil

Serve!!!!!!!
