Cherupayar Mezhukkupuratti(Greengram Stir Fry)

Very tasty and delicious stir fry usually served with rice or kanji ,but we can make it a good combo for appam,puttu etc...


  1. Cherupayar (soaked in water for 1 hour) : 1 cup
  2. Pearl Onions : 4-5
  3. Garlic: 2-3
  4. Dry Red Chillies ; 3-4(as per your spice level)
  5. Curry Leaves
  6. Salt
  7. Oil

Method :

  • Pressure cook the gram for one whistle in medium flame.
  • Crush the pearl onions,garlic and dry red chillies together.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
  • When it splutters add curry leaves,the crushed mixture and saute for few seconds.
  • Add the cooked green gram,salt and combine well.
