This is a tasty kanji loaded with the flavours of cumin and fenugreek seeds. It is a ramzan special dish.
Ingredients :
- White Raw Rice / Basmati Rice : 1 cup
- Fenugreek seeds : 1-2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp
- Salt
- Cumin powder or cumin seeds : 1 tsp
- Coconut (grated ) : 1/2 cup
- Pearl onions :2
- Garam Masala (optional) : 1/4 tsp
Method :
- Pressure cook the rice with all the powders, fenu greek seeds and salt by adding 3 cups of water.
- Grind coconut and pearl onions into a smooth consistency.
- When the rice cooks, add the ground coconut and mix well.
- Boil well till to attain a thick porridge like consistency.
