North Indian Dal Fry


Simple, Easy to make, Protein rich, Vegatarian Gravy..
It makes a great combo with any Indian rotis , Kubboos etc..
Anyway I always wondered why it is called a fry , while having a liquid consistency.....
Anybody knows????????????

Ingredients :

  1. Toor Dal : 1/2 cup(Soaked in water for half n hour)
  2. Onion : 1 (Chopped)
  3. Ginger Garlic Paste : 1 tsp
  4. Red Chilly Powder : 1/2 tsp
  5. Turmeric Powder :1/4 tsp
  6. Salt
  7. Oil - 1.5 tbsp
  8. Cumin Seeds : 1/4 tsp
  9. Coriander Leaves : For Garnishing


Method:

  • Pressure Cook the soaked Dal with all the ingredients except oil,cumin seeds and coriander leaves .(The important thing is it should not be overcook, we can see the soft dal lentils separately)
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Splutter the cumin seeds and add the cooked dal gravy into it.
  • Mix well....
  • Switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.


Ready!!!!!!!!Serve!!!!!!!!
